Notre Dame Fighting Irish: 2018 Season Preview

2017 record: 10-3

The Fighting Irish are coming off a 10 win season and are looking for more in 2018. With key losses in Quenton Nelson and Mike McGlinchey on the O-Line as well as RB Josh Adams, it will he critical for the Irish to find their guy for QB. Brandon Wumbish comes into the year as the projected starter, but Ian Brook, who led the team to a bowl win against LSU last season, will provide a very interesting presence in the QB race. The Irish secondary should remain one of the best in the nation in 2018. They will return all of their starting corners and safeties including star CB Julian Love and the duo of S Nick Coleman and Jalen Elliott. However, they will lose their defensive Coordinator to Texas A&M so it will be interesting to see how well they can adjust to the switch. It will be a key for Brian Kelly who enters his 9th year as the Head Coach of Notre Dame and is still looking to reach the playoffs for the first time. Key games include an opening weekend visit from Michigan as well as Stanford and a visit to USC thanksgiving weekend.
